Here’s a recent dose of jobs & joys that have come across my desk.
Happy Friday!
I hate when Substackers explain why their newsletter is late, and yet here I am doing the same. So, yes, this week’s edition is delayed—I’ve been moving houses! We are now officially Syd Ørestad inhabitants. If you’re local to the area, say hi!
Also, you might’ve noticed I spammed you with some extra email last week looking something like this:
I’ve started this thread to post some random job postings I find throughout the week, and I don’t want to wait till the next newsletter to share it with. So, here. I think you can turn on notifications (as well as turn off!) to get a ping when I post something new there.
And so without further ado, check out this week’s bag of goodies.

As always, a disclaimer: AFAIK, none of the jobs require Danish language proficiency (though I’m sure it’s a plus to mention you’re learning). Apply if you have at least 80% match with your CV, but I’m sure you already know all that. Good luck!
PS: if you get hired upon discovering the job here, I’m sooo happy for you. Also, let me know? I’d love to know, you know. x
Joys
Back to regular programming of stuff that spark joy. Missed the first installment of me chatting to recently hiredTM internationals in Copenhagen? You can read it here.
Saturday, 7th December
Julefrokost of the Future by Radikal Hospitality: Curious to know what “a speculative menu” might entail? Me too.
Cocoa & Cake by SofiaCitron and Ida: 20% of the profits will go to a chocolate project in Costa Rica, supporting indigenous communities.
Thursday, 12th December
Paint & Sip by WHOLESOME: Sip, sing and snack at The Pavilion in Grand Joanne Hotel.

THE BIG FESTIVE SUPPER CLUB by VENN: A curated dining event designed to foster connections.
Articles I loved this week:
Have we reached peak touchscreen? I feel the screen fatigue acutely. Or maybe I’m just getting old.
Your guide to the (gift) guides. A roundup of all the popular holiday gift guides. I fear this might be the end of this gift guide trend. The lights are on, the party is over, time to move on.
How Niches Took Over the Mainstream. We all might be a little too chronically online.
How to be more aware of the breadth and depth of life. or in other words, grateful.
Another recently hiredTM international Copenhagener tip:
After my last newsletter went out, I’ve chatted to Rob, a finance risk analyst. His job-hunting strategy was too good not to share though. So it’s got its own section! (Fyi, just like before, names (and possibly genders) were changed for privacy reasons.)
“I started calling the hiring manager listed in job ads to ask relevant questions. It helped me understand whether I was a good fit and saved time crafting tailored applications. I also built connections with HR or hiring managers, which proved useful even when I wasn’t hired immediately—they kept me in mind for future roles or suggested me to other departments.”
How did he find his current role?
“I called the hiring manager before applying. Later, they told me I was the only one who called, and they were curious to get to know me better.”
Apparently, it pays to pick up the phone.
Are you or your team hiring?
Share it with one of the vibiest communities in Copenhagen. Through me.
Useful and insightful as always
