jobs & joys in Copenhagen W47
Hand plucked jobs, tiny joys, and anything in between. Week 47/52
Here’s a new dose of jobs and joys that have come across my desk.
Happy Monday!
Holiday chaos? In mid-November? Yes, I went there. And now you’re here. Keep reading till Joys—you’ll see where this is going. I promise it’s joyful!
First off, thanks for participating in the poll last time. 67% of you wanted to hear from a recent hire, so we’re making it happen. And I have found a few amazing individuals willing to share their stories of looking for a job for a long timeTM and sharing what ultimately helped them succeed. It’s been a true pleasure to talk to them and I have a few more interviews to go—so the next batch of jobs & joys will feature their insights.
This might seem ironic to mention on a text-based medium, but I’ve recently spoken to a few friends who told me they don’t read much. Which is fair enough, you don’t have to read, if it’s not your thing. But if you’d like to, Speechify has been my ride-or-die. It kind of reads stuff for me, it’s really good if I want to get through an article, but I just can’t be bothered to pay attention. I think there’s a free version, but then Gwyneth Paltrow happened. So I’m on a premium. Classic.

AFAIK, none of the jobs require Danish language proficiency (though I’m sure it’s a plus to mention you’re learning). Apply if you have at least 80% match with your CV, but I’m sure you already know all that. Good luck!
PS: if you get hired upon discovering the job here, I’m sooo happy for you. Also, let me know? I’d love to know, you know. x
Are you / your team hiring? Want to share it with one of the vibiest community in Copenhagen? Do it. Do it now.

Places, events & articles (*and holiday gift guides 🎄) that spark joy.
We have a little over 4 weeks to organise ourselves for the holiday season. Whatever that means to you. Baking, cooking, cleaning, or all of the above—it’s time to start planning. If you’re anything like me (read: chronically anxious), you’re probably already deep in the gift-planning trenches.
And if you have not started? Well, let me tell you something (this plays in my head every time I write/say this sentence; I’m not okay and I know it) - you gotta start. You will be angry with yourself when you realise the gifts won’t arrive on time because you took forever to order it. So now, that I guilt-tripped you into good ol’ consumerism, here are some fun holiday gift guides I’ve been loving:
Oddly specific gift guides 2024 and Gifts that won’t be regifted and this one JUST FOR MEN because our men (unless they’re gay) love to be coy & effing demure about what they want, but that little twinkle in their eye if you get it right is worth all that frustration they put us through. At least sometimes.
Wednesday 20.11.
Quiz Night & Social Dinner by Project Friendship – Bring your brain rot and appetite to this cosy evening of trivia and a great meal by Nors. (link)
Movie Night: The Worst Person In The World by Cold Dip Club – bring a friend to watch, this time objectively (I tend to recommend films by subjective metrics such as vibes), a great film in a cool kids’ office of Astrae Studio. (link)
Friday 22.11.
Ikke Åben’s 1st Birthday Bash – Celebrate a full year of Ikke Åben! Expect music, delicious food (courtesy of Fabro), and a vibe that’s hard to beat. (link)
Anyday
Ice skating season is here! Whether you’re after a traditional location - Kogens Nytorv’s iconic ice rink is back. Classic, charming, and right in the heart of Copenhagen. Bundle up and glide (or stumble) your way through a quintessential winter tradition.
Or is cool hipster more your style, Reffen’s got you. A modern twist on skating with an industrial vibe. And yes, there are probably more ice rinks; if you want to know them, do your own research. (I’m a woman who’s learning to set boundaries, can you tell?)
Feel like doing something remotely new, or just have friends visiting from out of town—why not see this grand city of ours with the eyes of a cockeyed tourist? I’ve heard real good things about this Politically Incorrect Beer Walk.
All typos are intentional to make sure you’re paying attention.
omg this is so delightful! 🤍
Hi Sabina
I love your newsletter and I am beyond grateful for you putting so much love and time in gathering all the information and jobs and writing for us us so nicely.
May I just add one request, I’m looking for a job in the cultural, ngo, consulting, arts sector, and have a hard time finding any postings. I would be super happy if you could share some of these jobs as well, in case you happen to stumble across them.
A very grateful reader!
