jobs & joys in Copenhagen Halloween dispatch W45
Here’s something to get you ready for the week ahead.
Here’s a new batch of jobs and joys that have come across my desk.

Hey there, I’m back with a fresh round of job listings and local finds.
As always, each listing is tailored for English speakers, handpicked, posted in the last week and shared by people from my network. So behind each posting, there are real people looking for good people (like you!) to work with.
On the joys side, why not bring some warmth to the weekend with a Caribbean-style family dinner on Saturday? There’s also a binge-worthy show to get lost in and some thought-provoking (and occasionally absurd?) podcast recommendations to check out.
Enjoy!

AFAIK, none of the jobs require Danish language proficiency (though I’m sure it’s a plus to mention you’re learning). Apply if you have at least 80% match with your CV, but I’m sure you already know all that. Good luck!
PS: if you get hired upon discovering the job here, I’m sooo happy for you. Also, let me know? I’d love to know, you know. x

Places, events & articles that spark joy

This weekend, there’s a fabulous dinner pop-up I spotted over at Copenhagen’s indie food scene team and I can’t get off my head. It’s a family-style Caribbean dinner called YAM serving up gorgeous dishes full of flavour and a side of vibes.
Another important joy-giver is this Danish TV Show called Baby Fever(Skruk) on Netflix—it’s a binge-worthy and absolutely nuts plot line. But to be honest, relatability can be quite overrated. And I’ll do you one better, I can’t help but feel the low rating is a tad misogynistic. Sure, the plot’s improbable, but have you seen Breaking Bad? I rest my case.
For podcast recs: The Ezra Klein show for Ezra’s tough questions, always enriching observations and making space for nuance and opposing POVs. Ride by Benito Skinner and Mary-Beth Barone for when brain rot sounds like fun. And then, there’s this one. It might’ve broken my brain (in a good way, I think): Logged On by DAZED—a “chronically online” dive into topics like mid-culture (think: craft beer, cockapoos, the word ‘community’). Give it a listen and let me know what you think.
Lastly, mark your calendars for Sunday, Nov 9th for Gaza Bake Sale next weekend. How’s that supposed to bring you joy, you ask? Well, it is something that will make a difference to people that are in a really tough spot. A really, really tough spot. And the bakers involved are some of the most talented (and kindest) people in the business.
Have a good, spooky one tonight x
